Columbus Othie "C.O." Hackney, 84, of Sissonville went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 29, 2012.
C.O. retired from the Kanawha County School Board after 22 years of service as a school bus driver.
He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Mack Hackney; mother, Loshie Ethel Hackney; wife, Audra Marie Hackney; and a son, Donnie Lee Hackney.
Left to cherish his memory are brother, Clifford "Bo" Hackney and his wife, Opal, of Sissonville; sister, Maureen Randolph and her husband, Odie, of Goshen, Indiana; children, Gene Hackney and his wife, Kay, of Kenna, Olin Hackney and his wife, Elsie, of Blue Creek, Judy Ann Huffman and Lue Duley both of Sissonville, Faye Collins and her husband, Dave, of Connecticut and Charlotte Bennett and her husband, Howard, of Sissonville; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral service will be 1pm Saturday, June 2 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastor Al Mendez officiating. Burial will follow in the Clendenin-Jones Cemetery, Sissonville.
