Clifford Ray
Withrow Jr
September 23, 1982 – May 10, 2026
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Clifford Ray Withrow Jr., 43, who passed away on May 10, 2026 at 11:03am, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, with his sister by his side helping him through his battle until the very end.
Born on September 23rd, 1982, Clifford was more than just a son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend - he was the kind of person who made people feel loved, welcomed, and never alone. He had a heart bigger than this world, and anyone who knew him knew they could count on him no matter what. He always put others before himself.
He leaves behind so many who loved him dearly: his mother Caroline Withrow; his father Clifford Withrow Sr; his sister Rachel Ratcliff; his brothers Adam Withrow and Marshall Withrow; his nieces and nephews Nevaeh, Kayden, Mason, Destinee, Clarissa, Marshall and Levyana; his aunts Rita Adkins, Rita Muncy, and Evelyn Robertson; his uncles Franklin Ratcliff and Jerry Muncy; many cousins who were more like siblings Curtis, Abigail, Travis, Harold, and Priscilla, and many many more; he had countless friends who became family to him over the years.
For nearly 11 years, Clifford worked as a meat cutter at the Piggly Wiggly in Sissonville, where he wasn't just a co-worker. He built ever lasting friendships and made everyone feel welcome. He truly loved his work and the people around him.
Clifford found joy in the little things in life. He loved playing basketball and weekly poker games with his friends. He also loved the trips he took with his friends, but the beach trips were his favorite. The long rides just to get out of the house, watching movies, playing video games, and drawing. He was incredibly talented and could make something amazing out of a blank page. More than anything, he loved spending time with the people he cared about.
Clifford's heart also belonged to his faithful dogs and cat Bowser, Max, and Fizo, who were more than just pets to him. There were his constant companions, offering comfort, loyalty, and unconditional love until the end.
The world feels a little less bright without Clifford in it. His laughter, kindness, and the way he cared for others will never be forgotten. Though his time here was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held at Long and Fisher Funeral Home in Sissonville WV on May 30th, 2026, at 1:00 pm
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
