Charles Neil Ervin III, 13, of Sissonville passed away unexpectedly at home on July 22, 2010.
Affectionately known as "Little Charlie", he was born December 17, 1996, and was a wonderful boy that would do anything to help anyone. He loved racing motocross at Tyler Mountain Raceway and he recently won his first 1st place trophy on July 3. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was always busy working on something. His latest hobby was raising chickens so he could sell the eggs. He called his business "Welfare Charlies". Little Charlie was always willing to help his dad, grandpa and uncles in the brick laying business and his Uncle Brian and Aunt Beth at the meat shop.
Left to cherish his memory are parents, Charles and Vanessa Ervin of Sissonville; brothers, Trey and Jameson Payne of Dutch Ridge; maternal grandparents, Marie and Milton Mullins of Dutch Ridge; paternal grandparents, Charles and Celestine Ervin of Sissonville; great-grandmothers, Mary Proctor of Charleston and Nelly F. O'Dell of Sissonville; aunts and uncles, Treva and Steve Wild of England, Melva and Gary Crowder of Dutch Ridge, Lee and Terry Mullins of Charleston, William and Nikki Ervin of Sissonville, Shane and Shelley Ervin of Red House, Angie Tignor of Sissonville, Shawn Ervin and Kara Hundley of Dunbar, Ralph and Bonnie Ashley of Elkview and Russell Lucas of South Charleston; cousins, Derrick Lester, Michael and TJ Crowder, Shaylee and Meleah Mullins, Lance, Dalton, Wyatt, Ashley, Emily, Michael, Austin Ervin and Aria Trador, Amanda Mullins; and numerous other cousins; family members; and good friends.
Little Charlie will be missed by everyone who knew him and will never be forgotten.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 26, at Long and Fisher Funeral Home with Bill Burdette and Homer Wiseman officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
A gathering of family and friends will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
"Go brush your teeth Little Charlie and we'll go to Wal-mart".
