Obituary

Cecil Canter, 81, of Sissonville, went home to be with the Lord April 4, 2014, at home.

Cecil attended Fisher''s Chapel United Methodist Church and was retired from McCown Meats. He enjoyed his life of farming and gardening.

Preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Canter; parents, Romey and Cora Canter; siblings, James, Roger, Junior, and Guy Canter, Judy Casto and Barbara Price.

Left to cherish his memory are her children, Randy Canter (Sharon McClanahan) and Cathy Gibson (Eddy) all of Sissonville; step-mother, Hattie of Tampa, Florida; sisters, Faye of Staats Mill and Carolyn Canter of Tampa Florida; grandchildren, Meredith Taylor (John), Bethany Scarberry (Moses) and James Gibson, all of Sissonville; great-grandchildren, Madi and Jaidyn Taylor, Ryan and Raelynn Scarberry of Sissonville; two special little girls, Leigha and Licia Evans, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A special thank you to all of his wonderful caregivers: Sharon, Linda, Cassie, Carol, Renee and Mercedes.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 8 at Fisher''s Chapel United Methodist Church, Middle Fork with Reverend Bob Ball officiating. Burial will follow in Fisher Cemetery, Sissonville.

A gathering of family and friends will be 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. West, Charleston, WV 25387.
