On October 17, 2022, Carolyn Adele (Fisher) Adkins passed away at the age of 84 after a brief illness. Born in Sissonville, on January 20, 1938, she was the eldest child of Emery Spicer Fisher and Lakie Lee Fisher (Harrison). In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rita Carol Straight; son-in-law, Donald Straight, and brother-in-law, Jay Given. She is survived by her children, Trenna (Allen) Powell and Ken Alan Adkins; siblings, Connie Given and Gary (Carol) Fisher; her grandchildren, Donald (Stacey) Straight, Nathan Emery Powell, Morgan Lynn Powell, and her pride and joy, her only great-grandchild, Ava Lynn Powell; nieces and nephews, Karen Burdette, Lee Given, Kim Campbell and Kathy Chard. Per her wishes, her body was donated to West Virginia University. Long and Fisher Funeral Home in Sissonville is assisting the family. "But as God calls us one by one the chain will link again."
