Carol Sue (Holmes) Greene, 82, of Charleston passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 24, 2019 after a seven year battle with Alzheimer's.

She will be missed by her husband of 52 years, Benjamin C. Greene; her children,  Benjamin C. Greene II and Russell Holmes Greene (Kelly); sisters Francis Schneider, Eunice Jones, Diana Allen, Faye Fisher, Anna Young, and Evelyn Briscoe; grandchildren, Brittani, Caylee, Benjie III, Kaylin, and Sydney Greene; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Macel Holmes; sister, Helen Lanham; brothers, Darrell and Orville Holmes.

A special "Thank You" to Mrs. Greene's caregivers, Courtney Banks and Betty Carter; and housekeeper, Hope Rowsey for their years of kindness and care they bestowed upon Mrs. Greene and her family during their time of need.

Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with visitation beginning at noon. Pastor Mike Harper will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Fairplain Cemetery.
