Carl C. Boggs, 78, of Sissonville passed away December 24, 2009 at home after a short battle with lung cancer.
Carl attended Charleston High School, and was a graduate of the College of Hard Knocks having received his diploma. He was a graduate of ITT technical school in Boston, MA, and was also one of the original members of Faith Gospel Tabernacle. He attended Calvary Church of the Nazarene, and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, home remodeling and John Wayne films and westerns. He especially loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carl has worked for the Charleston Newspapers with 49 years service. He started by delivering newspapers at the age of 13.
Preceded in death by wife of 48 years, Beatrice Evelyn Boggs; parents, Ira and Olla Boggs; brothers, Arnold, Russell, David and Bennett; and a half-brother, Lewis Andrew.
Left to cherish his memory are sons and their wives, Timothy and Deanna Boggs of Parkersburg, Kenneth and Anna Boggs of Columbus, OH, and Thomas and Mary Boggs of South Side; granddaughters, Tia(Jay and Logan), and Kristen Kaiafas(George); grandsons, Thomas Boggs Jr.(Kristine), Michael Boggs(Stephanie), Josh Boggs, JonLuke Boggs and Jordan Boggs; great grandchildren, Peyton Thomas Boggs, Gabriella Nicole Kaiafas and Aiden Elliot; sisters-in-law, Anita Boggs of Austin, TX and Eva Boggs of Charleston; brothers-in-law, Richard Enoch(RosaLee) of Leroy and Raymond Enoch of Vincent, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be 11am Tuesday, December 29 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastor Edison Hager officiating. Entombment will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
A gathering of family and friends will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
