Brenda Darlene Smith, 75, of Hometown, WV, passed away on June 30, 2022 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston. Born November 30, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Alvie Doff and Marion Elizabeth Miller Hackney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Abraham Smith; life partner, Bert Smith, and daughters, Alea Cochran and Marion Smith. Brenda was the beloved matriarch of the family and loved her children and grandchildren very much. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children, Celia (J.R.) of Redhouse, WV and Perry (Lori) Smith of Sissonville; grandchildren, Jeremy, Danny, Eric, Justin, Josh, Andy and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Levi and Cameron, and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 5th, 2022 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home in Sissonville. The family will welcome friends one hour prior to services at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories in Sissonville.
