IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Billie Lee
Abbott
March 10, 1940 – July 6, 2024
Billie "Bill" Lee Abbott, 84, of Culloden, WV, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 6, 2024. He was born on March 10, 1940, to the late Woodrow Wilson and Delia Parthena Mahone Abbott.
Bill was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 64 years. He loved the people of the church and his association with them. Bill served in many callings, including working in the Columbus Ohio Temple and on the High Council for many years. He is comforted knowing he was sealed to his family in the Washington D.C. Temple for time and all Eternity.
Bill's life was marked by service and dedication. He honorably served in the Army for three years, with most of his service time spent in Germany. His love for his country, the flag, and the Constitution was unwavering. He was a true patriot. Bill also had a passion for sports, being a fan of Mickey Mantle with the N.Y. Yankees, Cincinnati Reds, and Bengals. He was an avid golfer and follower of golf legends Arnold Palmer and Phil Mickelson. But perhaps his greatest joy was cheering on his sons in their many sports activities throughout their school years. Above all, his family was his life. He loved being around them and always wanted their hugs. Bill devoted his life to his family with great love and compassion and wanted to have his family with him forever.
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his brothers Jerry, John, and Glen Abbott and sister Joyce Strunk.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife and soul mate Patricia "Pat" Aleshire Abbott, three sons Steve Abbott, Jeff Abbott, and Keith Abbott (Misty), his two precious daughters Cami Alford (Chris), and Shari Heinaman (Craig), sister Linda Adams, grandchildren Jeffrey, Zak, Jaylon, Caleb, Jett, Lexi, Aubri, Morgan, Sydni, Reili, and Courtney, and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sissonville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories.
