William "Bill" R. Landers, 66, of Sissonville, formerly of West Palm Beach, Fla., went to be with the Lord May 11, 2008 at home of natural causes.
Bill was a retired Press Manager for the Palm Beach Post, Fla., with 38 years service. He loved to fish, play cards, and billiards. To his friends and family he was known as "Wild Bill". He was born in Sissonville, and at the age of 18 he joined the Army where he was a Golden Gloves Boxer. After his Military Service he moved to Melbourne, Fla., where he met his future wife Linda Landers, the sister of Robert Firecoat. After retirement he moved back home to Sissonville. Bill was a very loving person, and especially adored his family.

Survived by: Children, Nina Landers Dickson and her husband Dean of Royal Palm Beach, Fla; Debrah Landers and her Fiance Larry Harrison of Sissonville; and Timothy Wayne Landers and his wife Tracey of Bartow, Fla.; Grandchildren, Joseph Gonzales, Jessica, and Jordan Ramos all of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., Zachary Frazier of Lake City, Fla., Justin, and Dakota Landers, Timothy Wayne Landers Jr., and Ashley Vicentia all of Bartow, Fla.; Great Grandchildren, Chris, Gabbie, and Matthew all of Bartow, Fla.; Sisters, Juanita West, Pansie and Gary Edens, Janie Griffin, Joyce and Chuck Hanson, Ruth Thompson, Millie Hollie, and Charlotte and Jim King; Brothers, Ray and Maxine Landers, Bus and Maryanne Landers, and Richard Landers; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
A celebration of Bill''s life will be 4pm Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Derrick''s Creek Community Church with Rev. Allen Thompson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
A graveside service will be held at a later date with full Military Graveside Rites in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Sumter County, Fla.
