Beulah Ann Mooney Thaxton 86, of Sissonville died January 19, 2012 at Hubbard Hospice House.
She was born and raised in Sissonville,WV, She was a long time member of Starcher Baptist Church in North Charleston.
She had worked at Collins Department Store and Charleston City Hall.
She was married to the late Norwood "Dagwood" Thaxton who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her mother, Bessie Aultz Sayre, step-father Willie Sayre, and father Otis Mooney.
Surviving are two daughters, Jo Ann Skeens and husband Jack of Scott Depot, Becky Canfield and husband Floyd of Elkins, and one son, Bob Thaxton and wife Becky of Manassas, Virginia.
Mrs Thaxton also had eight grandchildren: Richie McDonald, Jessica and Travis Skeens, Cindy Thaxton, Christopher, Jamie and Ryan Canfield and Jennifer George as well as nine great grandchildren Zane, Ziah, Reese, Natalie, Gabriel, Faith, Kyle, Christopher and Mandy.
Also surviving are three sisters, Bea Durham of Pennsylvania, Rachel Landers of Sissonville, Brenda Breeden of Flordia and three brothers, Russell and Ray Sayre of Sissonville and Raymond Sayre of Georgia, two aunts and several nieces and nephews. Service will be conducted at the Long and Fisher Funeral Home in Sissonville with the Rev. Tom Moore officiating, Monday January 23, 2012 at 1 PM.
Entombment will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be Sunday January 22, 2012 from 2 to 4 PM at the Long and Fisher Funeral Home.
