Betty Lou Mays, 86, of Cross Lanes, WV, passed away after a short illness. She was born on March 24, 1938, to the late Oscar McMillion and Hallie Kiser McMillion.
Betty retired after 30 years of service from Charleston Line Services. She was a current employee at Shoney's on the Boulevard. She was known as Ms. Betty the salad bar lady to all that knew her. She considered the people she worked with as her second family and will be missed by all of her beloved customers and friends she met over the years.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband Clarence Mays, siblings Brenda Curry, Velma McMillion, Susie Barnette, and Bucky McMillion.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Barbara Gandy (Richard) of Charleston, and Tracy White (Jerry) of Cross Lanes, sons Dale Hall (Becky) of Charleston, and Curtis Hall (Paula) of Charleston, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Garden of Memories.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 -7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home.
