Obituary

In all circumstances God walks with us in love, care and concern.
Bernard L. Goff of Charleston, West Virginia passed away at home on December 23, 2010,surrounded by loving family after having fought a long and hard battle with Kidney Cancer. He endured much during his battle with the disease and never once complained. His outlook and attitude were amazing.
Bernard is survived by his wife Patt. Children - Jason (Star) and Justin (April). Grandchildren who were the light of his life - Ashton, Kaylee and Lindsey Goff and his "homeless kitty - BoBo . Mother-in-law Ann Lowers. Brother-in-law Harry Lowers (Connie). Also surviving are : Sisters: Carolyn Bailes, Sandy Hissom and Brothers: Allen Goff, Darrell Goff and Keith Goff and several nieces and nephews.
Bernard was raised by his Grandparents Ernie and Mollie Thaxton and very special Aunt Bethel Thaxton all who will be waiting to greet him in heaven. Veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam era with tours of duty in Germany. Owner of Goff Trucking, Bernard worked many years in the Asphalt Industry and Stone hauling business. He took great pride in having the cleanest dump trucks in the business.
Special thanks to his friends who were with him every step of his journey, Bimbo Hamlett, Varrell Phillips, Wesley "Redbird" Casdorph, and Tommy Harrison. Special thanks to Pastor Brad Bennett and the members of Aldersgate''s United Methodist Church for their love, prayers and support. Also to Laura Wood - Clinical Research Coordinator - Cleveland Clinic - who is truly one of God''s special angels.
The Funeral Service will be 11am Monday, December 27 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastor Brad Bennett officiating. Entombment will follow at the Floral Hills Gardens of Memories Mausoleum Chapel, Sissonville, WV.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 2-4 and 6-8pm Sunday at the funeral home.
