Basil Gordon Roberts, 78, of Sissonville passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 09, 2021, after a long illness with his loving wife by his side. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother who enjoyed spending time with his family. Basil was a welder and a member of Boilermakers Local 26. He was a "packrat" and loved tinkering with his treasures in his garage. There was never a dual moment with Basil because he was a true jokester!

Left to cherish his memory is the love of his life for 34 years, Cathy Roberts; children, Melissa Roberts, Dawn Smart, Stacey Roberts, Tawnya Harwood, Matthew Roberts, and Robert Blankenship; siblings, Judith Alfred, and Francis Roberts; 23 grandchildren, six great grandchildren; brother in laws, Greg and Brian Goins; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends. Basil is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Normaleen Roberts.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Bill Jones will be officiating.
