Barbara "Bobbie" Holstein, 77, of Sissonville was called home to be with the lord on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at home after a short illness.
She was born December 9, 1936 the first of four daughters born to the late Guy and Violet Wolfe
Bobbie was a devout Christian and was a faithful member of Pocatalico community Church where she served on the board of directors. She was treasurer of Tops of Sissonville, a member of the Mad Hatters, a division of the red hat society and was active in the Sissonville relay for life. Bobbie enjoyed traveling whether it be to the beach, camping, going on a cruise or taking trips to the Amish Country. She loved to go shopping and could always find great deals.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle Holstein, and daughter Kathy Shamblin.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Pete (Debbie) Saunders of Sissonville and Mike (Carol) Saunders of Glen; sisters, Jan (Luther) Jones of Ripley, Linda (Harry) McCormick of Richmond, VA, Carol (Randy) Hively of Sissonville; granddaughter, Kendra Saunders of Sissonville; grandsons, Jason (Aspen) of Sissonville, Brian Shamblin of Maryland, and Jeremy Shamblin of Morgantown; nieces and nephew, Renee, Kelli, Daniell and Kevin.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastor Buddy Mairs officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
A gathering of family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
