Arbutus (Boots) Jewel Burdette, 77, born June 15, 1933 of Leroy formerly of Charleston went to be home with the Lord, May 25, 2011 at CAMC Memorial Hospital with family by her side following a short illness.
She is a Christian, member of Charleston Mountain Mission and attended Joes Run Memorial Church.
She is a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School class of 1951. She was employed at Union Carbide Tech Center then made raising her family her career.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and will be truly missed by her family, who loved her very much.
She is gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially, her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Parents: Everette and Mabel Walker, brothers Everette Walker, Jr. and Paul Walker.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 52 years, Jim Burdette.
Daughter: Vicki Schneider and husband Jeff of Sissonville. Son: Ron Burdette and wife Patricia of Leroy, WV. Grandchildren: Kristin and Amber Schneider of Sissonville Zane Burdette of Leroy, WV Brother: Charles Walker and wife Claudia of Texas Kenneth Walker and wife Irene of Florida
Also several, nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family would like to give a special thanks to CAMC Memorial MICU nursing staff and physicians for their great care and support. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday May 28, 2011 at the Long and Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. David Thaxton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Floral Hills Gardens of Memories, Sissonville.
