IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Angela Carol
Milam
November 24, 1962 – July 28, 2025
Angela Carol Milam, lovingly known as Mawmaw Angie to nearly everyone who met her, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, West Virginia, after a courageous three-year battle with ALS. She was 62 years old.
Born on November 24, 1962, in Charleston, WV, Angie was the daughter of Janice Reynolds and Roger Boggess. She spent her entire life in Sissonville, where she built a home, a family, and a legacy of love that will live on for generations.
For 44 years, she was the devoted wife and partner of Danny Milam. Together they raised two children, Danielle Milam (Jesse Hager) and Dusty Milam (Bobbi), and Angie poured every ounce of her heart into her family—especially her five treasured grandchildren: Jadyn, Garyn, Kaylor, Remedy, and Castyl Milam.
Angie spent most of her life caring for children in her home. After her first granddaughter Jadyn was born, she became known as Mawmaw Angie to the countless children she babysat. And they never forgot her—many came back years later to bring their own children into her care. Her home was a warm, lively place where everyone felt safe, loved, and welcome. Whether you were family, a friend, or a new face, she treated you like one of her own.
Angie loved big hair, Christmas trees, traveling, cooking, and being in charge (and she was in charge—just ask anyone). She had high standards for how things should be done and found joy in a clean house, a dressed-up day, and knowing she could help with anything her kids or grandkids needed. She never sat still for long, and she never missed a chance to lend a hand or offer advice—with love and just the right amount of sass. She didn't know a stranger. She'd talk to anyone, anywhere, and a quick visit often turned into an hours-long conversation at the kitchen island or by the door. She had a gift for making people feel seen, loved, and part of something bigger—her family.
Angie is survived by her loving husband Danny, her children Danielle and Dusty (Bobbi), and her adored grandchildren Jadyn, Garyn, Kaylor, Remedy, and Castyl. She is also survived by her brothers, Chris Boggess (Julie) and Chad Boggess (Tammy), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and the hundreds of families whose lives she touched as Mawmaw Angie.
Her love ran deep, her presence was unforgettable, and her legacy will live on through every life she shaped, every child she cared for, and every heart she filled. Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the many people who have supported us over the past three years as we navigated this journey alongside Angie. The outpouring of love, care, and kindness from friends, neighbors, and our community has meant more than words can express. We are especially thankful for Sabrena Settle, who has been nothing short of an angel. Her tireless devotion, gentle spirit, and unwavering support in caring for Angie brought us comfort and strength in the hardest moments. We will never forget the love and compassion she gave so freely.
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday July 31, 2025 at the Humphreys Memorial Church. Funeral Services will be held at Humphreys Memorial Church on Friday August 1, 2025 at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations in her memory to Hubbard Hospice House or Humphreys Memorial Church.
