Altha Edana Walker, 95, of Tuppers Creek went to be with the Lord on Aug. 2, 2007, after a long and prosperous life.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Elizabeth High Slater; her husband, Robert W. Walker; her daughter, Ruth Ellen Walker; her son, Norman F. Walker; and her grandson, Thomas W. Walker.
She is survived by daughters, Berniece Manker and husband, Phillip, Phyllis Blankenship and her husband, George; son, Orville W. Walker and wife, Dollie; daughter-in-law, Letha Walker; two granddaughters, Michele Manker and Beth Wehrle; and one great-grandson, Jordan Thomas Wehrle. Also surviving is one sister, Orpha Cavender and her husband, Leon Cavender.
She is also survived by two nieces, Carol Martin and husband, Arthur, Dreama Underwood and husband, Floyd, and one nephew, Elmer Cavender.
Special thanks to Dole Harmon for being such a good neighbor and friend and also to Cathy Asbury, her caretaker, for taking such good care of her. Also special thanks to a previous caretaker, Vicki McClanahan.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at the Long and Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Alvaro Mendez officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Entombment will follow in the Floral Hills Garden of Memories Mausoleum, Pocatalico.
