Alfred Zirkle, 86, of Sissonville went to be with the Lord March 3, 2008 in Marmet Healthcare after a short illness.
Alfred retired from Purity Baking Company with 36 years service. He loved to dance, especially clogging, and bluegrass music. He was a WWII Army Veteran having received a bronze star.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Saul and Grace Burnett Zirkle; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Survived by: Loving Wife, Genevieve Crane Zirkle at home; Sons, James Samuel Zirkle and his wife Karen of Scott Depot, and David Lee Zirkle of Charleston; Granddaughters, Jennifer Zirkle, Christy Mead, and Shelly Murray; Great-grandchildren, Isaac Mead, Tre Murray, and Sydney Murray; and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
The Funeral Service will be 11am Saturday, March 8 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Rev. Buddy Mairs officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar with Military Graveside rites provided by the WV Army National Guard Honor Guard, South Charleston. A gathering of friends and family will be 6-8pm Friday at the Funeral Home.
